New Abilities With A New Form

“Well do you think you would be able to hold a controller?” Greg asked

“I don't know it's worth a try though. Right” John replied

“Yep” Greg said

As john got up an Idea came to his mind

What if I grab my controller with my tail? he thought

So as he picked up Greg's controller he turned around and looked back willing his tail up to wrap around the other controller with surprising success

I could get used to this, this is awesome! He thought

As he handed Greg his controller Greg said “dude you just turned your neck like 180 degrees and that's so cool how you are holding your controller with your tail”

“Yeah I know” John said

“It was epic” Greg said

“Thanks” John replied

Greg tried turning the console on but it didn't work

“It must have gotten unplugged I will check” John said

“Ok” Greg replied

John checked behind the console and just as he suspected the power cord was unplugged so he picked it up but forgetting his claws as he plugged it in he suddenly felt a jolt of energy as the electricity jumped over his claw bracing himself for pain that never came as the energy seemed to surge through his body making him feel powerful and gaining a desire for more he pulled the plug out putting a claw in each outlet feeling even more power course through his body

This is amazing! he thought as it felt as if he was waking up

“John what are you doing!” Greg cried

“It feels so good” John replied

Then suddenly it felt as if he was swamped by heat warming his body as if he had been laying in the sun for hours on a hot summer day but it was not painful looking down to his claw he saw his scales changing from blue to yellow with tints of orange as his blue scales were replaced with the yellow-orange scales he suddenly felt as if he had pins and needles in localized spots all the way up his back looking back he saw spikes sprout from his back going from his shoulders up his neck and down his back as well as continuing down his tail he noticed however that these spikes seemed to be made of a crystalline structure and the yellow-orange scales reached the bottom of his tail now all of his blue scales had changed to these yellow-orange ones but his attention was drawn to the spikes running down his back as it seemed that there was a small lightning bolt continuously striking from his body to the outer edges of the spikes as the lightning within each of his spikes seemed to get even more powerful the lights in the house flickered and went out

Uh oh John thought

“What happened to the lights?” his dad asked walking into the room stopping when he saw the light being generated by Johns new spikes

“What happened to you” john's dad asked looking at him

John tried to explain what happened but was stopped when his dad said “you put your fingers in the outlet!”

“Yes but only because it felt like I was being energized by the shock I got while trying to plug in the X-box

“You could have died!” his dad said

“As a human probably but look it seems as if my body absorbed the electricity it changed my scales and gave me these cool spikes on my back” John said

“That was dangerous and you just changed into a dragon today you don't know the limits to what your new body can do” his dad said

“I will be more careful from now on ok dad” john said feeling a little sorry because he knew he had worried his dad

This seemed to make his dad feel better as he turned to leave the room

“Please be careful” his dad said leaving the room

“John you look so cool with those new spikes” Greg said as John's dad left the room

“Yeah they do look cool” John replied “how about we go see what the limits of this body are what do you think Greg”

“That sounds fun” Greg replied

They walked to the garage luckily it was connected to the house so there was no chance that anyone driving or walking by would see John since he was still a dragon

“Ok first I will lift those weights in the corner” john said pointing to the 20-pound weights that were stored in the garage

John walked over and picked them up almost falling back because of how easy it was to lift them

Greg started giggling

“Stop that I was expecting them to feel heavier” John said

“I know but it was just funny to see a dragon almost fall on his back trying to lift weights” Greg said just barely suppressing his giggling
“Ok if we are going to find anything else we will need some light too bad I accidentally blew the fuse” John said then started thinking if he could absorb electricity could he also control it?

Let's see can I feel the cables Just as he thought that it felt as if he had opened a second pair of eyes and he could see all of the electrical cables including a strong amount of electricity off to the north I wonder what that could be? He thought refocusing on the electrical cables finally finding the fuse Can I manipulate the electricity to bypass or repair the fuse? once again as the thought crossed his mind he felt the electricity move around casing movement within the fuse box and in almost exactly five seconds the light turned on Did I really just do that? John asked himself

“Woah, how are the lights back on?” Greg asked

“I think I may have been the reason for that” John said

“But you were standing here the whole time” Greg said

“I know I just kind of felt it and moved the electricity around” John said

“With what your mind?” Greg asked in awe

“I think so” John said “Hey since the powers back you want to play on the X-box?”

“I thought that you were going to lift the weights” Greg questioned

“I don't think that anything in here is heavy enough to be much of a challenge” John said

“Yeah i guess you are right. I bet I will be better than you” Greg said teasing

“Probably true” John said wondering if there was a way that he could have an edge considering he was not as fitted for the controller and wondering if he still had the same level of dexterity as before deciding not to switch to a human form to prevent his headache from coming back
As they sat down and booted up the console up John realized that there wasn't much of an impact to his dexterity despite missing a finger his main problem was making sure not to damage the controller with his claws.

“What should we play?” Greg asked

“How about star wars battlefront” John suggested

“K” Greg replied

So they booted up the game and went to survival mode
